We offer clinical internship placements for graduate students in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, and substance use disorder counseling. At West LA Recovery, interns don’t sit on the sidelines — they contribute. Our internship program places you inside a real, active treatment environment where you’ll gain hands-on experience working with individuals navigating addiction and co-occurring mental health challenges.
We provide structured supervision, a collaborative clinical team, and an environment built on compassion, evidence-based care, and genuine human connection. This is where your training becomes practice, and your practice becomes purpose.
What You Can Expect
Supervised Clinical Hours
Accumulate the supervised hours your program requires toward licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, or CADAC/RAD-T in California.
Real Clinical Experience
Work alongside experienced clinicians in group therapy facilitation, individual counseling support, biopsychosocial assessments, and substance use disorder treatment.
A Supportive Team
You’ll be joining a staff known for caring deeply — about clients and about each other. We’re invested in your development as a clinician.

West LA Recovery is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services. Your hours here carry weight.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from graduate students enrolled in the following programs:
- Master of Social Work (MSW)
- Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT)
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
- SUD / Addiction Counseling (RAD-T / CADAC) Trainee Programs
- Other related graduate-level clinical programs
Whether you have prior experience in group facilitation, individual counseling, or addiction work — or you’re eager to learn from the ground up — we encourage you to apply.
Availability requirement: Interns must be available for a minimum of two 8-hour days per week, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM.
