Specialized Trauma Therapy for Lasting Healing

Finding freedom from the pain of trauma requires a specialized approach. At West LA Recovery, we understand that unresolved trauma can be a powerful driver of addiction and other challenges. We’re proud to announce that one of our therapists has obtained the Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) credential, strengthening our ability to provide expert, compassionate care to those who have experienced trauma.

This certification signifies that our therapist has undergone rigorous training, demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge and skills in treating trauma and its related effects. It ensures you receive the highest standard of trauma-informed care, tailored to your unique needs.

What is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional?

The Certified Clinical Trauma Professional certification is a specialized credential awarded by the International Association of Trauma Professionals. It is not just a qualification; it is a commitment to providing a deep and comprehensive understanding of the impact of trauma on the brain, body, and emotions. A CCTP is specifically trained to help clients:

  • Identify and process traumatic memories in a safe, controlled environment
  • Address the negative thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that stem from trauma.
  • Develop effective coping skills for managing distress and emotional flashbacks.
  • Heal from a range of traumatic events, from single incidents to complex, ongoing trauma.

How Our CCTP Can Help You

Our certified trauma professional integrates their specialized expertise into your personalized treatment plan, creating a pathway for profound and lasting healing. They are skilled in helping clients navigate the complex relationship between trauma and:

  • Substance Use Disorders: Addressing the core trauma that often fuels addiction.
  • Anxiety, Depression, and PTSD: Reducing the severity of symptoms through evidence-based therapies.
  • Difficult Relationships: Learning how to establish healthy boundaries and communication.
  • Low Self-Worth: Releasing the burden of guilt and shame to build a more positive self-image.

Our Compassionate, Trauma-Informed Approach

We know that trust and safety are essential for healing from trauma. Our CCTP works within a holistic framework, ensuring all therapy is conducted in a non-judgmental and supportive environment. They integrate their expertise with other evidence-based modalities like EMDR and DBT to help you process difficult memories, build emotional regulation skills, and regain a sense of control over your life. We don’t just treat the addiction; we help you heal from what’s underneath it.
